Former MP Flutura Açka has described the Democratic Party as a toothless, vegetarian lion fed on salad .
According to the outgoing opposition lawmaker, the Democratic Party is a lion fed salad by Prime Minister Edi Rama over the long years in opposition and after this treatment it does not have the strength to stand up to face the majority of 83 mandates, resulting from the May 11 elections.
"It is for the Democratic Party, that the supervisor, the leadership. You can also take the government for Albanian society. Because the supervisor is to blame. The DP is in a leadership crisis, I must understand that the moment of personal responsibility has come. I see that there is a kind of concern, under the voices, in the corridors: 'Will Berisha leave or not?'. What are these people, these voices, this leadership that is waiting even for Mr. Berisha to physically dissolve in order to take his place. This is not the way that operates in a democracy. As long as there is a statute, responsible people must gather and say things at the DP podium, whether Mr. Berisha or a group of people in the DP likes or dislikes them. Because this cannot continue. The DP is truly Mr. Mani's lion, lying down and fed on salad, which has turned into a being that cannot walk. It is a vegetarian lion, meaning that it can no longer stand because it feeds on salad. It feeds on "the pressing matters of people who have certain interests ," Açka analyzed on A2.
Asked whether the responsibility for Rama making "Lion" vegetarian lies with Sali Berisha or Lulzim Basha, she replied: " Both. I do not exclude the fact that in this, some in silence, some with full involvement, some in the shadows and some in white and some in black, I say that the responsibility is shared."
According to Açka, it is illogical that the blue headquarters is trying to blame the responsibility for the state of the DP solely on former leader Basha, since everyone should bear the costs of the damage they have caused.
" The moment we blame only one person and the exclusionary manner of these 8 years that have been shared, of the fact that he has been their minister three times, their mayor. Targeting him in this way means that they do not want to understand personal and leadership responsibility ," Açka declared.
