The former chairman of the DP, Lulzim Basha, has continued his campaign today as part of the elections within the party for its new leader.
He held a meeting with the democrats of Pogradec, to whom he promised that with his coming to power, the vetting of politicians will be his main objective, according to him, the time has come for the wealth and figure of every politician to pass through a verification filter.
He promised that with his arrival at the head of the DP, the party will open up and become an option for all citizens.
" Today is the time to give power to the vote and the voice of the citizens through open lists, vetting in politics, limiting mandates and the vote of the diaspora. For this we must do everything we can, together with every Albanian, left and right, to make these changes possible, also asking for a referendum.
Today it is clear. Those who want a monopoly on politics, the media, the economy and want Albania to remain in their hands, are against vetting, are against accountability for their assets and links to crime, which they use in every election.
It is enough to see the corruption files of Ahmetaj, ministers, deputies and mayors of Edi Rama to understand how they steal money from Albanians, how they use crime to buy elections, how criminals determine their representatives in the Assembly, how their state works as a criminal organization.
Today is the time to open the papers and show the wealth of each politician. Let's see he justify or not! Today is the time to give Albanians the opportunity to elect their deputies through voting rather than directly.
The Democratic Party can and will bring about this change, by uniting through values and ideas in the Civic Alliance for Democracy, through which we can form a majority that transcends political divisions, to make constitutional changes that give citizens the strength and power to build the future they deserve ", writes Basha.
