DP MP, Flutura Açka has reacted after the attempts of the majority to approve the extension of the mandate of Skënder Gjinushi at the head of the Academy of Sciences within this parliamentary session, giving up on other amendments as well.
Through a post on social networks, Açka emphasized that there are some very bitter truths in this story, which would be too much for a European leader to resign, thus suggesting Gjinushi to leave his post.

MPs Petro Koçi and Ismet Beqiraj have submitted a draft law to the Education Commission, to change the law in force for the Academy of Sciences, requesting that the president of the Academy have the right to remain term after term at the head of the institution he leads.
It is learned that the two MPs have sent a letter to the chairperson of the Commission, Açka, where they request that only the amendment that allows the president of the Academy to run for a second term, including the removal of the age limit of 75 years, be approved on Monday. At the same time, they express their willingness to withdraw from the amendments they have made for the financial treatment of the Academy's personnel, as this would first require an opinion from the government, which could take a long time and postpone the approval of the draft to September .
