A well-known actor and a head of the secret service are on the list of 12 new names, which the government proposes for ambassadors of Albania. Petrit Malaj, who started a political career early with Edi Rama, after he could not lead the way to enter the parliament as a deputy of Tropoje, has received the trust of the prime minister to be our ambassador in Kosovo.
Qemal Minxhozi will leave this position, at the height of a deeply broken relationship, between Edi Rama and Albin Kurti, for whom not only diplomatic lines no longer work, but as the head of our government says, not even Whatsapp.
In the same list, there is Rama's proposal for a new ambassador to Serbia. But in this state, Rama has not chosen an actor as for Pristina. Career diplomat Bardhyl Canaj, who served in Israel, will go to Belgrade.
In the list of new ambassadors, Oljan Kanushi also stands out. Former adviser to Rama, who is currently number two in the state information service. He is proposed to serve in Slovenia.
Alongside him, Genc Pecani is sent on a delicate diplomatic mission. The career ambassador is proposed for Russia. The other list sent to the Assembly is dominated by career diplomats and promotions within the system, unlike the first group, where Rama made former deputies or his close associates ambassadors.
The candidates will be heard by the Foreign Policy Committee in the Assembly, and then they will be sent to President Bajram Begaj for his signature.
