The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, said that Rama took the electoral reform into his hands with the agreement with Reestablishment. According to him, the rest of the opposition are not able to produce a political discourse, and no longer a governing alternative.
"Unfounded accusations of a group of shopkeepers who have their minds on their chairs, they don't have the capacity to even discuss a political discourse. We are in a busy program for reorganizing the Party and denouncing the government with deeds. Those who are an annex of the SP and do the protests with a permit. They keep our proposals for the removal of immunity in the drawer. And the denunciations are allowed, they have been usurped by the SP. People's attention is being directed by what will come after a year" , said Basha for "Report TV".
Asked who is afraid of SPAK, Basha replied saying that they are afraid of all those who have illegal acts and have abused their power. The head of the DP encourages SPAK to investigate, as according to him the government is more concerned.
"Anyone who knows that he has committed illegal acts with the abuse of power. After 11 years of governance, he is struck as the most corrupt by the partners, the biggest fear is the power. We encourage SPAK to investigate, the government is more concerned but they have found alliance to those who sit in the opposition chairs in the Parliament ", added Basha.
The amnesty agreement, shall we not hear the cry elsewhere, in the Electoral Reform?
"The Electoral Reform Commission was extinguished and replaced with an opaque formula. Rama took the electoral reform in hand. There is Edi Rama on one side and LSI with a deputy on the other side. DP is nowhere. They competed on behalf of LSI. Our battle for open lists has extended to other levels, including at the table a few weeks ago, including a discourse with citizens.
Some have problems simply with their chair, some have deeper problems. But this separates them from the majority of Albanians. Any abuse must be answered before the law. On one side are the interests of a very small group of people. They are increasingly abandoned. On the other hand, we have our offer for the electoral reform" , he said.
Is there agreement from the other side?
"Every factor that calls itself opposition must align itself with these changes. The fact that they do not align themselves with the public interest shows that they have thrown their fate into the same vortex as bad governance. What calls itself the opposition is attacking SPAK. They have common interests. They are decided against the public interest. It is their choice and there will be a cost. We will continue the dialogue with citizens.
The bargain is for political survival. They don't think about rotation. Our goals go beyond narrow, partisan interests. If they come to our proposals, we will vote for them. If they are not taken into account, our vote will be against", concluded Basha.
