During a meeting with Albanians in Athens, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha emphasized the importance of the Albanian diaspora as the greatest force for change in Albania.
He has harshly criticized Edi Rama's government, accusing it of destroying the economy and increasing drug trafficking in the country.
Berisha stressed that 45% of the population has left Albania during Rama's mandate and described him as an enemy of the Albanian people. The DP leader said that immigrants are the ones who will bring real change, while expressing confidence that Albania will rise again with their help.
" Today we are at a historic moment and in fact, you are making history, I tell you."

In 10 years, 45% have left Albania. You are making history, but you should know that the city of Kolonja had only one birth in the entire year 2023. No war, no natural disaster, has caused such devastation to a country as Edi Rama's drug state did to Albania.
Then isn't this enemy one of the fiercest we have known in our history? Therefore, in the face of this alternative, in the face of the fact that he does not allow Albanians to vote, the strongest voice, the greatest hope for Albania and Albanians are you.
What am I seeing, what am I noticing? An extraordinary thing. In an Albania that is experiencing the most serious problems, that love that will become the true elixir of its salvation is flowing towards it.
You have a great merit, you have preserved that love, you have preserved it unfading, inexhaustible, and what you show is love for Albania. Today, with these attitudes, you warm the hearts and homes of Albanians wherever they are.
"We will tell them to wait for the diaspora because it is coming," Berisha said during his speech.
