Prime Minister Edi Rama has appointed Mirela Kumbaro as Minister of Education, removing her from her previous position at the Ministry of Tourism.
Rama emphasized Kumbaro's dedication and integrity during his years of public service, describing him as the right choice to lead education in the country.
"Mirela Kumbaro, whose work, dedication and integrity have spoken on her behalf throughout her years of public service, will be the new head of the Ministry of Education... Mirela will add to and pave the way with her dedication, thanks to both her now relatively short experience in this field and her long experience as a lecturer at the University of Tirana...
From my perspective, the internal gaps beyond the walls of new schools and the books and increased salaries of teachers are just as large as I said about hospitals and doctors.
"I am not at all pessimistic... on the contrary, I have great confidence that in the new milestones that we recently discussed with Ogerta, Mirela will add and pave the way with her dedication, thanks to both her now not-so-short experience in this direction but also to her long experience as a lecturer at the University of Tirana," said Rama.
Meanwhile, Kumbaro's reaction has gone viral online after Rama's announcement.
