Prime Minister Edi Rama will convene the Socialist Party Assembly in Durrës today. After the changes in the government, it seems that it is now the turn of the party's structures to receive new instructions and directives from their leader.
The meeting will start at 10:00, where the opening speech will be that of the Secretary General of the Socialist Party Blendi Klosi, to then leave the floor to the Socialist leader Rama.
The agenda provides for an analysis of the work of Socialist Organizations at the national level, guidelines for internal party elections, and also a detailed analysis of performance in the 2025 parliamentary elections.
The Socialists must prepare for the next local elections, those of 2027, so another point of discussion in the assembly will be the work on local elections. Also, one of the points expected to be approved during this meeting is the initiative for organizing the party in the diaspora.
According to the draft decision, the Socialists will launch a broad membership registration campaign in 5 countries where the majority of Albanians live: Italy, Greece, Germany, the USA, the United Kingdom and Canada.
One of the points of the draft decision aims to identify and create a database of SP members and supporters abroad. For this, the task is left to the local party structures in all municipalities of the country, which, based on the contacts registered during the last election campaign, must re-contact them and inform them about the registration process as SP members or supporters in these countries. The draft decision states that registration in this database must be carried out according to the principles of the legislation on the protection of personal data.
