Edi Rama's recent visit to Vlora, this time by helicopter, has provoked strong reactions. The leader of the Together Movement, Arlind Qori, has openly mocked the prime minister's luxurious way of moving, comparing him to "medieval kings."
In a post on social media, Qori writes that Rama avoids the traffic of Vlora by helicopter, just as he travels around the world by private charter. According to him, Rama's luxury lacks only a personal servant, to take care of his intimate needs.
" He travels around the world on a private charter. He goes to Vlora by helicopter so that traffic doesn't bother him. Now all he has to do, like medieval kings, is hire a servant to help him with the awkward tasks of the toilet, " Qori writes.
The sight of air travel, paid for by the state budget, is fueling growing discontent, as the opposition demands transparency about the government's costs and priorities.
