With 7 more days to go for the country to hold parliamentary elections, Prime Minister Edi Rama told "Review" on Euronews Albania that the Socialist Party's objective is to win 71 seats, but according to him, this is not something that is being discussed.
According to him, Sunday is not just about fighting for 71 mandates, but also about closing negotiations with the EU for Albania's membership.
"We as the Albanian nation, we as the people of Albania here, on Sunday have a meeting with history. It is not for the Socialist Party or for the swamp party, it is for history. The Socialist Party, 71 mandates are not discussed.
"This is not about '71, but about a message of strength from the Albanian people in relation to Europe. For a message of strength to create a power here focused on negotiations until 2027. What has happened to us that does not happen to every generation. Fate brought us into the hands of closing the negotiations with the EU for two years, which until yesterday did not open the door," said Rama.
