Prime Minister Edi Rama has broken his silence on the opposition candidate in Tirana, actor Florian Binaj, who is an independent candidate who is also supported by the opposition.
According to Rama, the opposition is a desperate quagmire as long as it has chosen to rely on an actor for mayor, especially for the capital.
"Two first-class cities for Albania, which will be led by two women. They are unquestionably winners. The swamp is so desperate that a comedian has nominated a candidate, who has even made the Socialist Party Congress melt. I do not judge the new actor for the new role he has taken on. Ogerta to give Tirana the right direction," Rama said in his podcast.
Florjan Binaj will run as an independent candidate for the Municipality of Tirana in the November 9 by-elections, and he also received the consent of the Democratic Party.
It was the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, who, in a communication to the media, said that the Democratic Party supports Florjan Binaj, but the final decision will be made after discussions with opposition allies.
Binaj will face the Socialist Party candidate, Ogerta Manastirliu, in this race, while the decision for the elections comes after Erion Veliaj's dismissal from office.
Binaj's candidacy comes after his announcement, through a status on Sunday last week, as an independent. Known to the Albanian public through his career in television, he has not previously held public office.
His career began in the early 2000s in a comedy show, where for more than 15 years he played characters that became part of popular culture.
After leaving the comedy show, Binaj began a new stage as a moderator.
In addition to his media activity, Binaj has been continuously involved in civil society initiatives, mainly in the field of the environment and civil rights. He has participated in protests and held public statements. Florian Binaj is 40 years old, a father of three children.

Intelektualët , profesionistët, diaspora, elita politike pa "Kënetën",duhet të dakortësohen për një kandidat të 'Pavarur' nga "Këneta" 35 vjeçare.
