Member of the DP Presidency, Ervin Salianji, stated that some of the DP leaders and structures do not respond to the rhythm of the democratic leadership, Sali Berisha.
Salianji said that he is in constant communication with Berisha, while adding that the party must undergo renewal to change the approach to the functioning of the structures and the way of communicating with the public.
Also, the former Democratic MP noted that "there is not as much rivalry in the DP as there should be." "The rivalries, competitions, clashes, jealousies that are normal in politics are not enough. Like a football team where everyone has to train as much as possible to get a place in the lineup. Only in this way does the team become stronger and emerge champion," said Salianji on "This Week" with Nisida Tufa.
Question: Do you meet Mr. Berisha? Do you hold talks with him?
Ervin Salianji: Unquestionably, I have constant communication with Mr. Berisha. There should be more competition and rivalry in the DP, to show that it competes both for public performance and for contacts with citizens. So, it is a perception that is close to the truth that even during the electoral campaign it was like this, Mr. Berisha has been at a distance in many activities, efforts and battles than we are saying, not all – some less, some more – but there has been a kind of apathy in a certain part of the party leaders or structures to follow the rhythm of the party leader. If I were to say otherwise I would be lying. This has been accepted and Mr. Berisha has said it in a strong term, I think, but I believe that in this direction the step of the DP that must move should be faster, towards the renewal of the DP and a kind of different formatting of the DP, both in terms of structures and in terms of people who communicate with the public.
