The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held his next speech today with supporters in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, where he commented on the political situation and the functioning of the institutions in the country.
Berisha also revealed the time of the March 12 protest, which will be held at 10:00 in front of the Albanian Parliament.
"March 12 is a big day, it is the day of the overthrow of the narco-regime. At 10 o'clock, all of Albania will be in front of Parliament, to give Rama the answer he deserves," said Berisha.
During his speech, Berisha specifically addressed intellectuals and urged them not to accept the current political situation. He emphasized that silence and accommodation with the current government harms public life and institutions.
According to him, the decisions and governance of Prime Minister Edi Rama are negatively affecting Albania's relationship with the European Union. Berisha argued that these developments are creating obstacles to the country's European integration.
The opposition leader also linked this situation to what he considers a blow to justice, citing the Balluku case. He said that when justice is damaged and does not function as an independent institution, the state loses its function and is replaced by structures that operate outside legal principles.
Berisha: I address the tens of thousands of teachers, doctors, and lawyers of this country. Conformity with this regime is the greatest sin of life. Submission to this regime is an unforgivable mistake, no one should conform to what is happening. First of all, you, the inhabitants of the house of knowledge, the members of the intelligentsia of this nation, have the greatest responsibilities. None of you can say that you do not understand what is happening.
The head of the regime is using the majority, the mandates of crime as armor, to protect himself from stealing from citizens. None of you can agree because you better than everyone else are clear that with these acts the head of the criminal organization Edi Rama is closing the doors of Europe to Albanians. He is destroying the European dream. None of you can pretend not to understand that when the constitution is violated, when justice is annihilated, there is no longer a state, but a gang, a parastate.
