SPAK report on corruption, Tabaku: The Albanian economy is being killed, public
Jorida Tabaku

Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku has commented on SPAK's latest report on corruption in Albania, stating that the phenomenon is severely damaging the economy and citizens' trust in institutions.

Tabaku emphasized that corruption is one of the main reasons for Albanians leaving the country and a serious obstacle to European integration.

According to her, public procurements are often predetermined, with uncompetitive tenders and inflated costs, which distorts competition and harms honest businesses.

In conclusion, the democratic MP emphasized that the country needs a profound change in the current system, describing corruption as a plague that has gripped the economy and future of Albania.

Tabaku: Corruption is killing the Albanian economy, it is killing citizens' trust in institutions and it is killing their future. It is the main reason why Albanians are leaving and why Albania is hindered in the European integration process.

Public procurement is all predetermined. It is a system that not only serves to launder money, but also awards tenders without competition, with multiplied values, and in a predetermined manner.

Today, the Albanian economy only has businesses that live to win tenders. But where is the market economy? Where is the competition? Where is the race?

We must change this corrupt system that has captured the economy, the future of the country, and the Albanians.
