As previously reported, Elona Lalaj will head the Tirana Municipal Police. A few weeks ago, the head of this structure, Toni Beni, who was known to be close to Mayor Erion Veliaj, was dismissed from his post.
After his arrest, clashes began and Rama launched an attack to take control of the municipality, fearing that employees would not vote for the SP on May 11. Initially, two of the mayor's loyalists, Sara Goxhaj and Alban Dokushi, were removed from office, while Anuela Ristani was appointed as the head of the municipality. Then the mayor left and today Elona Lalaj, who comes from the ranks of the order, has been appointed.
