Rama continues propaganda for the May 11 elections: We will raise the minimum wage to 500 euros

Prime Minister Edi Rama has continued his propaganda for the May 11 elections, promising that the minimum wage in June, by government decision, will be 500 euros.

Rama said that this decision will come into effect from January next year.

"830 euros is the average salary in Albania today, the general one. In the public sector, it is 1,000 euros."

The minimum wage was 157 euros, now it is 400 euros. And with a decision in June, we will increase it to 500 euros, and it will come into effect from January 2026.

Meanwhile, most companies and businesses have a much higher minimum wage. "Whoever does not want to listen does not listen, is more deaf than the one who has hearing problems," said Rama.
