The fall of the euro, Tabaku: Consequence of money laundering and corruption

The deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, has raised the concern about the historical devaluation of the Euro during this summer, stressing that this phenomenon is not related to traditional economic factors such as tourism or agriculture.

According to Tabak, the reports of INSTAT and the Ministry of Finance show that the only sector with economic growth is construction, a sector that is benefiting from foreign direct investments, which in most cases have gone to the purchase of real estate.

Tabaku states that this development indicates money laundering in the construction sector, a phenomenon that does not reflect the interests of honest citizens and does not contribute to the development of the real economy. She points out that Albanian producers and farmers are being punished, since the devaluation of the Euro has made Albanian products more expensive abroad, thus making the internal market out of order.

Tabaku seeks a new economic model that distributes wealth at all levels and does not rely only on the construction sector, which according to her has become a center of corruption and money laundering. She points out that this current model does not bring any value to honest citizens and businesses.

"The Euro has reached a historic low during this summer. Throughout the summer, the Euro has been exchanged at less than 100 lek per euro. What are the factors that have influenced this devaluation of the euro. It has nothing to do with tourism, nor with any other sector which they are not reflecting what they should have reflected at least in the economy. The answer is given by INSTAT and the Ministry of Finance. The only sector with economic growth is construction, while on the other hand the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Albania.

They confirm that all foreign direct investments that have come into the economy and gone to the construction sector are related to the purchase of real estate, which means that it is money laundering. Which means that it is a phenomenon that has nothing to do with honest working citizens, it has nothing to do with either tourism or agriculture.

But on the other hand, it is affecting and penalizing those who honestly work with their work. Production is being penalized today. Today, Albanian farm and agricultural products are being penalized because they are sold abroad more expensively, and practically everything has been put out of order in the domestic market. Only as a result of this, the Albanian economy today relies on imports and imported products. We need to bring an economic model that distributes wealth at all levels while what is happening is focused on money laundering and corruption. No value for citizens and no value for honest businesses", writes the DP deputy on social networks.
