Fuel price increase, Tabaku accuses the Government: You are remaining passive
Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku

Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, has reacted through a video published on social networks regarding the increase in fuel prices in the country, describing the situation as a consequence of a corrupt economic system that, according to her, directly burdens citizens.

According to Tabaku, gas stations have increased prices immediately and to high levels, even though international markets have not yet reflected an increase that would justify this situation in Albania. She emphasized that fuel depots in the country are full, which according to her increases suspicions of speculation in the market.

The Democratic MP also criticized the responsible institutions, stating that the Competition Authority and the government are creating the impression that they are monitoring the situation, while in practice they are not taking concrete measures to protect consumers.

Tabaku also emphasized that, unlike Albania, some countries in the region have taken measures to cope with the increase in fuel prices, while according to her, citizens in the country are faced only with statements and propaganda.

"The increase in prices without yet being reflected in international stock exchanges and with filled deposits is to the direct detriment of Albanian citizens. This is the result of a corrupt economic system that has captured every link in the market, from gas stations to the prices that citizens pay every day," said Tabaku.

At the end of her response, she emphasized that the current situation shows the need for a profound change in the economic and institutional system in the country, adding that only a fair and competitive market can guarantee the protection of the interests of citizens and honest business.
