The increase in the average age in Albania, Sula: Misgovernance is affecting the

The democratic MP Dashnor Sula has stated that Albania, although one of the countries with the youngest population, in recent years is marking a marked regression in this aspect.

Through a post on the "Facebook" social network, Sula said that the Albanian people are aging fast, as he emphasized that this comes from factors such as emigration, job insecurity, high prices, low wages.

Sula compared the situation in Albania with that in Kosovo, saying that in order to face the challenges of the time, the government there has taken some stimulating measures.

" When a statesman thinks about his citizens! Albania, one of the countries with the youngest population, in recent years is marking a marked regression in this aspect. Mass emigration, the escape of vital ages and the uncertainty of life have made our country one of the countries that is experiencing the fastest aging of the population.

According to INSTAT, on January 1, 2023, the median age of the population is 38.8 years old, from 38.2 on January 1, 2022.

On January 1, 2023, the youth dependency ratio (the ratio of the population aged 0-14 to the population aged 15-64) decreased, compared to January 1, 2022: from 24.0% to 23.8%, while the dependency ratio of the elderly (the ratio of the population 65+ to the population 15-64 years old) increased: from 23.1% to 24.4% during the same period.

This means that the Albanian people are aging fast. This, as INSTAT also mentions, comes from several factors; emigration, job insecurity, high prices, low wages. All this discourages young couples from starting a family, while those families who have one child hesitate to expand the family for the same reasons.

Does the government know about this phenomenon?!

Of course I know. But it has not taken and it seems that it does not intend to take any measures. It even does the opposite by taking punitive measures for the middle class and ruining the education system.

To understand what kind of government we have, we are taking the example of Kosovo.

Kosovo has a younger population than us, but in order to face the challenges of the time, the government there has taken some stimulating measures.

Prime Minister Kurti has launched a new support scheme for families there, giving 20 euros per child per month for every family that has up to two children. For each family with 3 children or more, the child allowance is 30 euros per month until the age of 16. There is no one with political convictions or without political convictions who does not make the difference between a government available to its citizens and a government which not only does not help its citizens, but also steals from them the grants that the European Union makes available ", writes Sula.
