The Deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, has stated that from April 1, the tax on those who work in the virtual online space will start.
Tabaku made his comments in Euronews Albania, where he said that this tax is expected to be between 23-50%.
Tabaku also said that the government, instead of stimulating those who work online, as it is a growing business in Albania, goes and taxes them, destroying jobs.
" From April 1st, taxation begins on those who work in the virtual online space. We will see below how much the tax is. We will see in practice how much it will be. But it is practically 23-50%. Why? Because the formula they calculated is based on turnover.
They assumed that a business X, for example an IT, could have expenses of 10 ALL, or 5% of the turnover. But even this is assumed, because that IT person must definitely get a certificate, read, invest in that business. I've had countless young people write to me telling me that this is too big a deal for them.
I met young people who have contracts with India, who work here. Do you understand what the government does? Instead of stimulating this growing business, not to the credit of the government, they go and tax them. A year before the elections, they make a fiscal favor, as soon as the elections are over, they increase them again ", said Tabaku.
