The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, at the conclusion of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit, said that the Tirana Declaration was not adopted by all participating states. According to him, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina did not vote on the final document.
" The joint declaration was the Tirana document and was voted on by the majority of SEECP member states. Serbia and Bosnia decided not to approve it, which is their sovereign right. However, we agreed with Kosovo on an additional declaration, which emphasized that the sanctions imposed on it are unjust and should be resolved as soon as possible, as they do not punish politicians, but the citizens of Kosovo ," said President Begaj.
He also stressed the importance of regional cooperation in the face of global challenges such as wars around the world.
"Whatever happens in the world today is a danger for our region as well ," the president said.
The SEECP summit was held this Monday in Tirana, under the chairmanship of President Begaj, with the participation of regional leaders. At the end, it was planned to sign the declaration before the official photo of the leaders, but this did not happen.
