Shkruar nga PamfletiThe President of the Assembly, Elisa Spiropali, has responded to the USA and the EU, which reacted strongly after the decision of the SP not to implement the decision of the Constitutional Court to send Olta Xhaçka's mandate for verification.
In a reaction on the 'X' platform, Spiropali underlines that he has addressed the Venice Commission and as soon as they receive the opinion from him they will act without wasting a single day of time.
" I fully share the conviction that the implementation of the decisions of the Constitutional Court by the Parliament is an essential issue, as it is related to institutional checks and balances in the country's democratic system. That is why I emphasized during the opening of the parliamentary session last week, as a priority, the need for the Assembly to follow the remaining decisions of the Constitutional Court.
Yesterday's vote demonstrated that the decision of the Constitutional Court of a year and a half ago, and more recently the one of July 2024, needs the clarification that has been requested for so long. Precisely for the purpose of obtaining this clarification and putting an end to the ambiguity that has accompanied the Assembly, regarding the way of implementing the decision, I have immediately turned today to the Venice Commission as an instance with indisputable prestige and competence. As soon as we receive the relevant opinion from the Venice Commission, we will act according to that opinion without wasting another day ," writes Spiropali.
