Democratic Party MP, Tritan Shehu, has reacted after the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu and the European Union Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, in the LGBTQ+ community Pride Parade, held on Saturday in the capital.
During the Foreign Policy Committee meeting, Shehu considered their presence at the event unacceptable and declared that he would ask Prime Minister Edi Rama to dismiss Albana Koçiu.
"I will ask the Prime Minister in the plenary session to dismiss Albana Koçiu for her unacceptable participation in the LGBTQ+ parade," said the Democratic MP.
He also called on representatives of the Foreign Ministry to undertake a diplomatic demarche against the EU Ambassador, Silvio Gonzato, for his participation in the parade.
"Honorable colleagues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I ask you to make a diplomatic demarche, an official note of protest against Ambassador Gonzato for his participation in the parade. To be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for explanations and to be told that this contradicts the principles on which we build our society and the law on discrimination," declared Shehu.
