Endri Shabani, the chairman of the Nisma Thurje, revealed the threats his uncle, Zeqir Kordhoni, has received for not withdrawing from the safe list. He stressed that he does not accept such a political model and even adds that he has fought the model of violence, while emphasizing that his uncle has received death threats.
"Mr. Zeqir Kordhoni felt used. He said that you can't make fun of me. He has been an activist since 2023. He has collected signatures, distributed leaflets... In his frustration, he said "I am a man, not a politician". He felt that Adriatiku was not serious with him. I don't want to go into details, but he has received death threats ", Shabani said on "Off the Record", on A2 CNN.
Shabani further added that he does not want to further escalate the situation and hoped that his uncle would not file a police report regarding the threats, while adding that they agree that Klena Xhuveli should take the mandate.
"This is a standard exceeded even by the old parties that were known as violent. I do not want to escalate the situation further and I hope that Mr. Kordhoni will not file a complaint. I want to put an end to this as soon as possible. If Kleana Xhuveli, who has revoked her resignation, has everyone's agreement, let her go to Parliament. She is a young girl, a lawyer and just as good as Endrit Shabani and Adriatik Lapaj. She represents "Albania is Made". There has never been a claim from Nisma Thurje to receive a mandate. Mr. Zeqir Kordhoni has never thought of becoming an MP, being at the bottom of the list," Shabani added.
He then addressed the threats against his uncle, saying that they were immoral and that this is a pattern that should be condemned.
"We don't even have the morals now to tell a man whose family has been threatened, 'you should back off, they were just joking when they threatened your children.' Even yesterday, a public figure told him that 'the public will spit on your children when they go out on the street.' In such a situation, the solution is legal. We can ask the CEC to recognize the resignations submitted on May 11. We filled the closed list with people who had no intention of becoming MPs. 6,500 people voted for Adriatikun and 3,100 for me. Under no circumstances does it happen that all the wishes of the voters are represented in Parliament. Mr. Zeqir Kordhoni reacted in a moment of irritation and the situation worsened when he received threats. There is no turning back from that. This is a disaster. I believe that after this whole situation, both I and Mr. Lapaj, do not believe that we are claiming a mandate anymore. I have no choice but to "I tell Mr. Kordhoni, 'don't take the threats on the phone and at home seriously.' This is a model that we must condemn, we cannot promote ," declared Shabani.
