A day before the new presidential elections that were held this Saturday, mass departures continued in the Democratic Party of Elbasan.

The presidency and important figures such as its Chairman Eugen Isaji and Secretary Zamir Muzhaqi have resigned in protest against the decision to include businessman Naim Meta, a figure unknown to them in terms of contributions to the party, to the list of candidates.

It is learned that within the official democratic party of Elbasan, the businessman was supported by the deputy of Basha, Flutura Açka. This move by MP Açka has caused tensions within the PD branch in Elbasan, resulting in resignations in the bloc, reports "ABC News".

Eugen Isaji's departure from the Democratic Party marks a critical moment for this party in Elbasan with deep divisions between the party's segments. But despite the series of resignations of important figures, the businessman Naim Meta was elected with the few votes of those who still remained in Elbasan PD.
