
Today at 10:00, the Parliament will convene for a plenary session, which will begin with a minute of silence in honor of the Tirana Appeals Court judge, Astrit Kalaja, who was killed on Monday afternoon in the courtroom. The head of the Freedom Party Parliamentary Group, Tedi Blushi, has requested a debate on security in the courts.
The agenda of the session includes the reporting of several institutions on their activities during 2024, as well as questions and debate if requested. At 09:30, before the session, the Conference of Speakers will meet to develop and determine the time of the debate on the reports of these institutions.
At the beginning of the session, the chairman Gentian Sala will report on the activities of the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP) for 2024 (20 minutes). The draft resolution will then be read by the Committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development and the Committee on Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight, and voted on.
Commissioner Besnik Dervishi will also report on the activities of the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Personal Data Protection (KDIMDP) for 2024. The presentation and voting of the draft resolution by the Committee on Human Rights and Public Information Means and the Committee on Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight are then expected.
Also, Petrit Ahmeti, the chairman of the Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE), will report on the activity of this institution during the past year. After the report, the draft resolution of two committees, the Committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development and the Committee on Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight, will be read and voted on.
The annual report of the Water Regulatory Authority (WRA) is also expected to be unveiled by the Chairperson of the Regulatory Commission, Gerta Lubonja. The Committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development and the Committee on Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight will present the draft resolution that is expected to be voted on.
In the previous session on September 29, the Democrats again requested a debate in the Assembly on the government program. The Majority chose to respond through its new MPs, who criticized the opposition's behavior in parliament.
