The head of the Weaving Initiative, Endri Shabani, has expressed his support for Florian Binaj in the race for mayor of Tirana, emphasizing that the actor's candidacy has managed to unite many people with different political positions.
In an interview for A2 CNN with journalist Pandi Gjata, Shabani said: " Florjan Binaj has brought us all together, even with people who under other conditions we would not cooperate. I have been systematically against Sali Berisha and would not work with him or his former ministers, but this does not prevent me from supporting Florjan ."
Shabani said that his support for Binaj is related to the concrete program for the citizens of Tirana, not to political affiliation. He emphasized that the issues that the “Thurje” Initiative has defended in the Municipal Council should be part of the candidate’s program, such as public transportation reform, school meals, and support for pensioners and students.
" The citizens of Tirana have given us their votes on these concrete topics, on transportation that should be removed from private monopolies, on services that make life easier for the elderly and students, and on public housing ," declared Shabani.
