The member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party, Ervin Salianji, spoke on the show "Now", with moderator Erla Mëhilli on Euronews Albania, regarding the support he gave to Florian Binaj's candidacy for mayor in the by-elections in Tirana. Salianji stated that what the opposition should focus on is to find the points that unite them.
According to him, the main point is that Binaj has received support. He emphasizes that at this moment, party interests are falling and that the public interest is important.
" I think that today is the moment to find all the points that unite us. The main point is the candidate of all opposition parties, including Mr. Shehaj, who have given their support. This is not a little. The entire narrative of the journey at this moment falls apart as long as support has been received for the independent candidate.
In this sense, the party interests that each of the parties has, which I also thought was the political interest and only the DP could be a political candidate, fall in these moments and what is the public interest prevails. An important test at a certain moment where it seems that the autocracy controls everything, to be given another breath to leave the political parties , "said Salianji.
