Brunilda Mersini is officially presented as the Socialist Party's candidate for the local by-elections in the Municipality of Vlora.
In a meeting held this Wednesday with local SP structures and members of the leadership of the coastal city branch, Mersin received political support to run in the November 9 race.
The meeting was chaired by Bledi Çuçi, the political leader of the region, who praised Mersini's figure as a credible, institutional profile and capable of leading Vlora into a new phase of development. For her part, Mersini expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity and emphasized the improvement of services, urbanization and local economic development, with a focus on tourism and civic well-being.
The officialization of Mersin's candidacy automatically brings about the surrender of her mandate as a member of parliament. Briseida Çakërri is expected to enter the Assembly in her place, continuing the SP's political cycle in parliamentary representation.
In addition to Vlora, the names of candidates in Mat (Altin Bojni), Berat (Ervin Ceca), Tepelena (Gramoz Sako) and Cërrik (Florenc Doka) have also been confirmed.
