After SPAK's request to the Assembly for the arrest of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha for the Partizani affair, the latter went to the meeting of the group attended by Gazment Bardhi MPs.
Berisha said that they will decide at the group's meeting whether he will participate in the meeting of the Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity, which is expected to meet in the Presidency of the Assembly after the SPAK request for the arrest.
According to the regulation, Berisha has the right to participate in this meeting where SPAK's request will be considered.
We remind you that SPAK has asked the Assembly for authorization to assign another security measure for Sali Berisha.
SPAK requests the appointment of the security measure "Prison" or "House arrest" for the former prime minister. Given that Sali Berisha enjoys the mandate of the deputy and has immunity, SPAK has addressed the Assembly for granting permission for the appointment of such a measure.
Now the Council for the Immunity and Mandates Regulation will notify Sali Berisha and schedule a meeting regarding this matter.
Berisha has the right to present to the Council, in writing or orally, his explanations and remarks about the case.
He also has the right to be represented by legal counsel, ask questions and ask for clarifications regarding the request. Within 2 weeks, the Council submits a report to the Assembly regarding the dismissal or approval of the request of the Prosecutor's Office.
