Socialist MP Arben Pëllumbi, who presented the SP report on Arben Ahmetaj, responded to Gazment Bardhi by saying that he took a political stance and that he mentioned the name of Prime Minister Edi Rama, although his name is not mentioned in the file.
" Bardhi did nothing else, but took a political stance. We are neither a court nor prosecutors to give decisions. We have in front of us a report presented by the prosecution body, which must meet in court with the person under investigation, and the court is the only body that must give the final decision. Until that stage we must recognize the presumption of innocence. We are not here to give political verdicts, he mentioned a lot of names, he mentioned many times the prime minister of the country, which does not exist anywhere in the SPAK report ", said Pëllumbi.
Both DP and SP have given approval in the preliminary reports to pave the way for Ahmetaj's arrest.
With the approval of SPAK's request, Arben Ahmetaj's immunity as a deputy is finally removed and the way to arrest is opened, although until now it is not known where the former prime minister is, who according to the lawyers has left Albania. The Socialist Party itself has declared that it will not become the shield of Ahmetaj or any corrupt official.
