The head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has reacted after the SPAK decision to seize the Tirana incinerator.
Basha welcomed the decision to seize Tirana's incinerator and said that this is the right step to unravel this corrupt scandal that costs Albanians 430 million euros.
"I welcome the determination of SPAK for the in-depth investigation of the affair of the century, which costs Albanian taxpayers more than 430 million euros.
The sequestration of the ghost incinerator of Tirana is a proper step for disclosing this corrupt megascandal.
I express full support and encourage the justice institutions to act without any hesitation against corruption at the highest levels, this gangrene that destroys jobs and the well-being of Albanians.
Albanian citizens expect and deserve justice, they know very well that the fish stinks from the head!", writes Basha.
SPAK announced today (August 1) that it has seized the Tirana incinerator, for which it states that Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri were the "de facto" owners of the company "Integrated Energy BV SPV" sh.pk
In the official announcement of the Special Prosecutor's Office, it is stated that "from the evidence obtained during the investigation, it was found that the citizens Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri have used other persons and companies to hide their traces as the real owners of the concession company "Integrated Energy BV SPV" s.pk"
Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri have benefited thanks to falsified tax invoices 409,428,000 Lek, SPAK said today.
