Spartak Braho: How Fatos Nano announced the arrest of Sali Berisha and who is

The former head of the National Security Commission, at the same time the former deputy of the Socialist Party, Spartak Braho has commented on the political situation in the country, focusing on the developments within the opposition and the "Berisha" case. During an interview for "SOT" newspaper, former MP Braho says that there is no similarity regarding the issue of justice between Fatos Nano and Sali Berisha, while he describes it as political revenge of the latter. Braho even remembered the words of Fatos Nano to the media after he came out of prison in 1997 and was asked about Sali Berisha, who since then warned of the difficult situation in which the head of Re-establishment was in, because he has open accounts with justice. Also, Mr. Braho revealed that Berisha's immunity was revoked in 1998 for a coup and that he refused to appear before the commission. Braho emphasized that Sali Berisha was taken by force at the time, adding that he never appeared at the prosecutor's office. On the other hand, the former socialist lawmaker also commented on the rumors about who could be Berisha's successor at the head of "Foltor", given that the former prime minister is being investigated by the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) regarding the "Partizani" affair. . On the other hand, for the former deputy, the affair in the "Partizani" complex is half of those that Sali Berisha can be accused of. According to Braho, Sali Berisha is burdened with terrible crimes. Referring to the lawsuit filed by Haklaj's sister, Braho said that the Swedish authorities are investigating Berisha in Tirana. Braho further added that there are 260 boys from Tropoja killed, and Sali Berisha must answer for this in a direct or indirect way.

-Mr. Braho, was the decision of the Assembly to remove Sali Berisha's immunity to pave the way for him after his arrest expected?

It was expected and all legal parameters were broken, the Constitutional Court also spoke. The decision will be executed, I have said that Berisha is making consecutive mistakes. Even lawyers advise him badly.

-Where did Sali Berisha go wrong, in your opinion?

Saliu still obeys the law, tries to cling to the legal clutches like someone strangled by a straw. Will I go to prison is the question or will I go to house arrest. Berisha put Nano in prison and if he continues with this persistence, the time has come for history to repeat itself. Once he said I will obey the Assembly, then he says I don't obey the Assembly, then he gathered some people there, an abnormal situation. Berisha is in total panic. He lives in panic and terror. Reestablishment is no longer a party, it is a crowd. The legal party is that of Lulzim Basha.

- Is the Rama government performing well or is the situation of the opposition going in its favor?

It is not the problem that it is performing well, in terms of macro developments, there are results, but it is not where it should be. The needy strata and pensioners are in economic crisis and have deep problems and there are no results in this area. Agriculture must be supported, subsidies for farmers must be distributed urgently. It is not that Edi Rama has difficulty with the opposition because there is no opposition.

- Do you see a descendant of Sali Berisha?

A name is circulating, Saimir Mane, he comes from rich backgrounds and is a businessman who is supported by governments. And it seems that there are premises to get into politics. I heard a deputy of the DP in her logic, she can't stand Berisha anymore, she needs to leave, but she is not the only one, there are others who think this. Strong brakes must be put on Rama, and the opposition has this task. Non-priority and non-public interest investments are being made. However, he has an opinion and a philosophy of his own to realize the projects he has in mind.

-How do you see the movement of SPAK, which has decided to ask the Special Court (GJKKO) to tighten the security measure for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha from "compulsion to appear" to house arrest?

Arrest both at home and in prison is arrest. If he will comply with the requirements stipulated by the regulation for house arrest, well, if not, the prison is there. I have followed the arrest that was made to Nano at that time and it was a political imprisonment at the instigation of Berisha, because in the end Nano received complete innocence. When he got out of prison in 1997, he was asked if he would take revenge on Berisha by putting him in prison, he said no, Berisha will put himself in prison and he got the word out. Now we have a new justice and a new prosecutor. Important events await us, they do not intend to work. The opposition will soon find itself to turn into an efficient and serious structure.

- In the meantime, let's go back in time and comment on the 1998 coup provoked by Sali Berisha. How do you remember Berisha's confrontation with the law for the chaos and violence he sowed at that time?

Saliu holds himself up as a champion of law enforcement, but he is just an ordinary crook. In 1998, the prosecution requested the removal of Sali Berisha's immunity for the coup. I was the chairman of the committee at that time. I called him several times to come over to review. It was a mixed commission. Even one of the most active members was Nikoll Lesi who voted in favor of removing the immunity. Those from the DP did not stay, they ran away from the commission. We forcibly took Sali Berisha, we communicated to him that the commission has decided to remove his immunity. A measure which was approved by the Assembly that same night. For 4 years, the prosecution called him repeatedly and he never appeared. This is Sali Berisha. I am worried that he will come out and make a mess, that the police will go to his house and threaten me, I jumped from the balcony.

- Besides '98, is Sali Berisha involved in the riots?

Rigels, Sali Berisha has committed serious crimes, not only for the former club "Partizani". The privatization of the former "Partizani" complex is half of what is being accused. The Swedes are also looking for Sali Berisha. The Swedes of Tropoja have arrived. Terrible crimes are being committed on Berisha and his shoulders. There are 260 boys from Tropojan who have been killed and who are calling for justice, it will be called directly and indirectly. They start after '97. He must also answer for the imprisonment of Adem Jashari, '93. In '96 Hashim Thaçin. / TODAY
