The Deputy of the Democratic Party Agron Gjekamarkaj has stated that Lulzim Basha is responsible for the situation in which the DP is today.
In an interview for the 'Now' show on 'Euronews Albania', he accused the head of the DP of becoming an ally with the prime minister, "doing something that no one has done before in 31 years".
"Basha has done something unprecedented that no one has done in 31 years by taking something that is not his, he is turning into an ally of the power to survive in politics. If PD is to come to power, it needs to be truly re-established, and why not by changing the name and seal. The government is interested in keeping the conflict alive in DP and in this context personal interest prevails. Basha's interest is to be a deputy, he will survive in politics, he is playing for that, but he is doing the damage" , said Gjekmarkaj.
He added that it would be better for Lulzim Basha to give the logo to Berisha, in this way, according to him, the party would not be damaged anymore. According to him, during the 9 years that Basha was in charge of the PD, he only destroyed it.
"We are a bit unfortunate in this story because from the human side, from the ethical side you cannot be eternal. Berisha withdrew once, returned. He gave Lulzim Basha the opportunity to be 9 years, ruining the 2013 race, let's tell the truth as they are, imposing on the Democratic Party and Lulzim Basha now comes out and says that I was not the president, but he commanded me Sali Berisha that this is a shame for Basha himself for allowing such a relationship, but also for Berisha if he imposed such a thing on her. In this context, I think that both have consumed their political history with their successes and failures. In general, Berisha has had more successes, while Basha has had more electoral failures, and today no one owes Lulzim Basha a debt.", said Gjekmarkaj.
