The elected MP of the Democratic Party, Genc Strazimiri, has made a comparison between the former Parliament and the current one.
During an interview on the show "Çdo Kënd" on A2 CNN, he recalled the period from 1991 to 2013 as an era of fierce debate, but with a high intellectual level.
" In that parliament, even the gun rattled - Azem Hajdari was almost killed inside the hall in 1997 - but it was a pleasure to listen to them," said Strazimir, mentioning confrontations between well-known figures such as Sali Berisha, Namik Dokle, Pjetër Arbnori and Gramoz Ruçi.
According to him, although the clashes were strong, they remained within the bounds of parliamentary dignity.
"They never had to hold hands, they never had to use words outside the dictionary ," he declared.
Strazimir underlined that even though the positions were opposite, debates between politically and intellectually formed personalities were valuable to the public.
