Ervin Salianjan's meeting with the most voted candidates on the open lists has stirred up trouble in the blue headquarters.
In anticipation of the next meeting, Ilir Alimehmeti, one of the figures who was part of the meeting of the most voted Democrats, says that this meeting comes due to the lack of space in the party to express the alternative of the recovery of the DP.
" Our meetings are daily, not just one, there are many more. It was not an official forum meeting, it is held in a neutral environment, one of the main facilities in the center of Tirana, about 100 meters from the headquarters. Voted people were invited. I believe that democracy is from the bottom up, from the right people, then representation with the bodies that they want to create or from those who want to be represented, the most voted people in all the districts were invited, not having deputies.
The MPs have their own spaces, this group did not have a space where they could talk and communicate, about the election situation, the post-election situation, to talk about what and how the DP can strengthen and become a governing alternative. It is a meeting between members of the DP for the good of the DP and there was no need for comments of various kinds, a normal meeting, we noticed that the problems are the same in all districts. In the absence of a Council meeting, with a member of the presidency Salinaj, the floor is taken to the presidency meeting with some of the proposals. Perhaps due to great hunger, great expectations, this fuss was created. It is not about factions, or divisions, but that as democrats they must put their house in order and raise their heads to become a governing alternative" , said Ilir Alimehmeti.
Alihmehmet said that it is necessary for these individuals to become part of the official analysis that the DP says it has initiated, but without a clear plan.
" We are asking for the leadership structure to gather, to invite the candidates who were in the race, for the official analysis. They are the most voted candidates, they have extensive knowledge of the field. If these are not present in the working group, it is likely that people who were not in the field are present, is there a possibility that the facts are not as they should be in the election analysis, there is. That is why they should have been officially invited, 6 months have passed since the elections. Are the issues raised being resolved, are they being taken to the relevant bodies, has the DP undergone the reorganization that was expected after the election analysis? The ODIHR report has been released, has there been any movement from this moment on? No ," emphasizes Alimehmeti.
Alimehmeti states that reorganization is needed in the Democratic Party, at every level, up to the position of chairman.
" Reorganization is needed, the lack of reorganization led to very lukewarm protests. The situation in Balluk is a case in point, is there a stronger opposition cause to have strong and sustainable protests? The cause of the DP is right, but it has to do with organization and representation, the DP is lame in this aspect. What do we solve is the question, what was discussed and will what we are discussing be resolved in time.
"The DP has already started some meetings at the grassroots level, but more than analysis, it is making some explanations of how the OSCE ODIHR report justified its claims. Parallel to these developments, the voices that demand a full analysis, accompanied by reflection on the blue leadership, are increasing ," Alimehmeti said for the show "Today Live in Albania".
