Details have emerged from Prime Minister Edi Rama's meeting with the socialist mayors of municipalities at the Palace of Congresses.

During his speech, Rama called for a focus on raising civil emergencies at the local level and also for more commitment to the mountains package due to the high interest.

"We are working on the collection and processing of waste, especially in tourist areas," Rama is reported to have said.

He asked the mayors to engage in the field with the party structures as well as in the "Works of Albania" tour.

For mayors who have more than 3 mandates and will not run for re-election, he requested that they commit to the remainder of their term. Regarding the "Mountain Package", a budget of 5 million euros will be set at the beginning.

Rama's meeting was held behind closed doors as the Democratic mayors were not allowed to enter the premises where the meeting was being held. The Mayor of Puka, Rrok Dodaj, has announced that he was not allowed to participate because the guards did not allow him to enter the hall.

According to them, his name does not appear on the list of participants. Dodaj, in a communication with journalist Shehu, stated that the organizers told him that there was a mistake in sending the invitation.

Several Democratic Party mayors have stated that they have received an invitation to participate in the same meeting, while the Socialist Party emphasizes that only Socialist mayors of municipalities have been invited.

Mayors Miftar Dauti of Has and Albert Mylyshi of Mirdita have stated that they did not receive an invitation for this meeting with Rama at the Palace of Congresses.
