Prime Minister Edi Rama harshly attacked opposition leader Sali Berisha for the recent protests and tensions. Speaking at a meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Rama accused the opposition of feeding false narratives about corruption and directly damaging the country's image.
He mocked the accusations against the government and said that political opponents believe absurd stories. Rama stated that this climate of division and violent acts, including the placement of improvised explosive devices, drive away investors and create insecurity. He brought up Montenegro and the capital Podgorica as an example, emphasizing that such episodes do not occur there, even though there is an active opposition.
"All those who are against us believe that a minister washes a car with 10 thousand euros, that after foam is poured on it, swallow's milk is poured on it. They have been brainwashed for so long, they believe in the existence of the power of corruption in Albania, they are fooled, even when they count the ballot boxes, the same one comes out again, Noc Rrroku. This endless road is harmful for Albania. Montenegro has the same problems as us, but have you seen a homemade bomb in Podgorica? Not that there is no opposition there, but there is a 'One and Only', an extraordinary hotel from all over the world, where tourists go. Here 'One and Only' is a crazy old man, with 5 missing boards, dragging 500 citizens who work for him, who contribute to damaging the image of Albania. The CEO of one and only called me after the publication of the photos, what is happening there? We are in discussions to bring 'One and Only' to Albania. It is a detail of how Albania is affected by such barbarity," Rama said.
