Democratic Party MP, Jozefina Topalli, participated in the voting for the election of the DP chairman, while in her statement to the media, she praised the figure of Sali Berisha as a leader who, according to her, has survived politically despite the blows and isolation.
Topalli said that Berisha has been the subject of continuous political and institutional attacks, but has still managed to maintain broad support from democrats and citizens.
"Politics is a test of character, there are leaders in power who are powerful because of their power. In the case of Berisha, a unique case has occurred. He was lobbied to be declared non grata, he was isolated and he managed to return thanks to the people's trust. They removed his seal and arrested him and he started his campaign from arrest. When you take away the most normal political instruments from a leader, you have crossed the boundaries of politics. When under these conditions he gains the trust of over 500 thousand Albanians, he enters another territory, that of symbolism, which no longer functions with the logic of the establishment," she said.
