Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha today appointed Xhemal Gjunkshi as National Security Advisor. The decision comes a few days after a meeting initiated by former MP Ervin Salianji, which caused quite a stir at the DP headquarters, where Gjunkshi was a participant.
In a post on social media, Gjunkshi thanked Berisha for the appointment, while stating that the confidence given by the President is an encouragement to launch our political vision for a safer and fairer Albania.
"National security requires cooperation and responsible decision-making, and I am committed to contributing with professionalism, integrity, and dedication in support of the Democratic Party's strategic vision for the country's national security."
I express my sincere gratitude to the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha, for the trust placed in me by appointing me as National Security Advisor to the Democratic Party. This is an honor and responsibility that I take very seriously.
"Thank you to everyone who supports us on this common journey. We are more determined than ever to make a difference," writes Gjunkshi.
