Former candidate of the "Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet" party, Ergys Isufi, has reacted to yesterday's incident where he was caught red-handed by the police with a dose of cocaine.
In his reaction, Isufi apologized to the public and especially to his colleagues at 'Albania Becomes'. He emphasized that he is not a drug user, while stating that many citizens know that he has not been implicated in criminal cases and the use of narcotics.
Isufi finally thanked the State Police for not becoming part of a malicious and staged incident.
"Regarding the current situation, I feel a moral obligation to apologize deeply to the Albanian public, the citizens of Saranda, my family, my friends, my comrades, but above all to all my colleagues of 'Albania Becomes'. I thank them for the opportunity and the trust they showed in me to be part of the list for MPs in the May 2025 elections. 'You are not for politics' is what I have heard throughout these days. But I came here for politics, I came here to contribute with my principles, beliefs and faith, being part of this movement with the aim of making Albania happen. Politics acted in its 35-year-old way. But I would not want anyone to be discouraged and even more so that the responsibility passes to the 'Albania Becomes' movement.
Please, you know me, I have never been implicated in any criminal or moral issues, and even more so in the use or trafficking of narcotics. I am free today and I deserve to be free, because for this I thank all the State Police officers who showed professionalism. Even if they were to become part of a staged malice, it was not known what my fate would be today. Support the 'Albania is Made' movement. Forgive me, forgive me," he said.
