The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared during a media conference that Prime Minister Edi Rama has deceived the public regarding a recent trip to Spain and participation in an international summit in Barcelona.
Berisha raised questions about the way the visit was communicated and accused Rama of deliberately concealing a public activity, to present it as an official bilateral visit.
According to Berisha, the event was organized by Alex Soros, while emphasizing that he was not pro-European. Berisha went on to call Rama a political 'prostitute'.
"I apologize for this conference before you, but I will start by asking a question for all of you: What name can be given to a prime minister who flies several thousand kilometers from his country to participate in an international summit entitled "Global Summit for Democracy" in Barcelona and deceives his citizens, tells them that I was in Spain for a visit to Pedro Sanchez and keeps secret from the citizens in his country the participation in the global summit where there were a certain number of countries or prime ministers from a series of countries in Latin America, Africa and other parts of the globe. When a prime minister goes to a country, he participates in a summit as if it were clandestine, while it was a public event, invited by the Spanish prime minister with a considerable number of prime ministers and heads of state.
