The Central Election Commission has started distributing ballots to Albanians living abroad who have registered to participate in the parliamentary elections on May 11. According to official figures published by the CEC, as of today (13:50) 241,647 envelopes have been delivered, 58,128 have been received by voters, while 8,367 have arrived at the CEC.

According to the CEC, so far, ballots have been sent to compatriots from 10 regions of the country, for Albanian citizens living in various countries around the world.

The largest number of ballots distributed belongs to the Tirana district with 51,520, Fier 31,752, Elbasan 25,022, Durrës 24,872 and then to other districts.

Divided by country, 89,723 envelopes were sent to Italy, 67,165 to Greece, 25,062 to Germany, 20,274 to the United States of America, 16,913 to the United Kingdom, etc.

Voters in the diaspora have until the first week of May to complete and mail in their ballots. Any vote that arrives in Albania after 7:00 PM on May 11 will be considered invalid.

The designated place for the administration of this process is the “Feti Borova” Sports Palace, near the Tirana Olympic Park. The ballots are being prepared and sent there, and the counting of diaspora votes will also take place there.

Ballots will reach our compatriots in Europe from April 15 to 22 and on other continents from April 15 to 25.

After receiving the envelope with the ballot, the overseas voter is advised to send it to the CEC within 3 days of receipt. They will not spend anything, as the postage is paid by the CEC.
