Prime Minister Edi Rama has revealed the details of the organization of the Peace Summit that will bring the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, to Albania for the first time.
In an interview with the journalist of Euronews Albania, Alice Taylor, Rama stated that this summit aims to show the world that Albania and the Western Balkans stand by Ukraine, in this war that is also significant for the region.
" I feel humbled and honored to have talked with President Zelensky, and to have heard from him very valuable things about the Western Balkans and our region, including some NATO members around the Western Balkans. The idea to organize the summit came to us in conversation. In fact, we sent the invitations together and the summit is being organized by both parties. In this part of the democratic world, there are no problems with supporting Ukraine, for the integrity of its territory. Also, there is no problem with understanding that Ukraine is not only fighting its own battle, but it is significant beyond Ukraine. We do what we can. We are not gathering in Tirana to change the course of things for the entire democratic community. On the other hand, I will not underestimate the contribution and influence, so we are doing our duty and again I think it is a great honor for Albania to welcome this summit ", declared Rama.
