The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, has announced that on January 11, the registration process of the Albanian diaspora for the May 11, 2025 elections will officially begin.
Through a video message, Celibashi said that the registration will be done through the Electronic Platform for the Registration of Voters from abroad, which can be accessed from the CEC application, or through the website of this institution.
"This is a historic moment for the elections in Albania, as for the first time our fellow citizens residing outside the territory of the Republic of Albania will have the opportunity to vote where they have their place of residence", he said among other things.
The general parliamentary elections will be held on May 11, 2025, a date already decreed by the President of the Republic Bajram Begaj.
In these elections, the Albanian Diaspora will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite candidates for the first time, without having to travel to Albania.
