The leader of the Mundësia party, Agron Shehaj, said that in the May 11 elections, he aims for as many deputies as needed for a parliamentary group.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Shehaj said that from media polls and those conducted by his party, Mundësia emerges as the second opposition party.
Excerpts from the studio conversation:
Shehaj : The expectation is great, but if we compare where we started a year ago and today where we have established structures throughout Albania. On Sunday we opened the campaign at the Palace of Congresses, on Monday we were in Shkodra. I don't see any other party that does activities like us. We have an increase in followers on social networks. We are conveying our message of an Albania that succeeds through work, that there is another Albania, of people who work with honest work.
We are a new party and we do not intend to take power. We do polls every Saturday that tell us that we are growing. The latest polls by News 24 and Euronews show us that we are the second party after the DP.
The expectation is to get a number of MPs and form a parliamentary group, and this goal seems feasible.
Rakipi : They say you didn't do it to steal, but for protagonism. What do you say to these people?
Shehaj : They are very right to say that we do it for this. The old parties entered politics and did not have a penny and now they have become millionaires. The new parties have done more than those who were in power. This accusation is ridiculous.
Doda : I studied architecture and I work in architecture. I started my profession to stay above politics. I felt that I had a certain calling, because I had seen my parents disappointed. But when I started working, I realized that I was fixing people's houses, but not their lives. I want to have a bigger impact, to improve their lives too.
I come from a persecuted family, similar to Agron. We have made a similar journey. We have inherited nothing. Together with our families, we have dedicated ourselves to work. Agron a little more and became a millionaire.
It teaches you many values, that you should be on the side of justice and stand up to injustice.
In 2021, I met Agron when we campaigned for Tirana and he seemed like a person similar to me. When Agron decided to open a party, he didn't need an invitation. The Opportunity Party was the right thing to do.
