The Complaints and Sanctions Commission cast lots this Wednesday for the appointment of the relator, who will examine the appeal request of the Democratic Party on the distribution of members in the Zonal Electoral Administration Commission in Kukës, within the partial elections for mayor of Kukës, which will be held on September 24.
After the drawing of lots, the name of Ervis Çefa appeared on the drawn ballot, who will report the appeal request number 93, filed by the Democratic Party of Albania with the object "Amendment of the decision dated 19.08.2023 of the State Election Commissioner "On the appointment of the political parties that will propose the members and the secretary of the Electoral Administration Area Commission no. 11, for the partial local elections for the Mayor of Kuka on September 24, 2023".
The Democratic Party of Albania sent to the Electoral College the decision of the CEC to give the Freedom Party the right to elect two members of the CEC, as the largest opposition party, according to the May 14 result.
The Electoral College decided to return the case to the Appeals and Sanctions Commission. Earlier, KAS did not consider this DP complaint. Thus, after the preliminary procedures, it will be Elvis Çefa, the relator of the case, who will consider the appeal of the Democratic Party of Albania.
According to the blue headquarters, the CEC, in the calculation of the allocations of the composition of the CEAZs, should take into consideration the election result of the last parliamentary elections.
