The Democratic Party has proposed changes to the draft decision presented by the Socialists in the Albanian Parliament regarding the establishment of two Special Commissions, one for Electoral Reform and one for Territorial Reform.
In the Democrats' proposal, which bears the signature of the head of the Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, the Democrats demand equality between the ruling party and the opposition.
Namely, for the electoral reform, the commission is required to consist of 16 members, where 8 belong to the Socialist Party, 6 to the Democratic Party and 1 representative from the parliamentary group "Alliance for Change" and the parliamentary group of the Freedom Party.

According to the Democrats, the same principle is required to be applied to the Special Commission for Territorial Reform.
It is also required that international institutions, including the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, be part of the expertise.
Likewise, for specific issues on which the parties do not reach consensus, it is proposed that they be referred to the Venice Commission and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
