The Assembly was involved in debates in today's session regarding the stance held over the years by the parties in relation to Kosovo.
Among the debates and mutual accusations, there was also the one between the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, and the MP of 'Mundësia', Erald Kapri.
Vengu said that no one from the opposition is capable of giving lectures on patriotism to the majority. Vengu said that Edi Rama has requested the recognition of Kosovo in the midst of Belgrade.
The debate
Erald Kapri: Unusually, it was mentioned, Kosovo, you would probably do well to stop it. Kosovo cannot be felt at this difficult moment and provoke the opposition by going to a rally. Now that the left has a big complex with Kosovo, this is felt. The history of the left starts early with Kosovo, with the fact that the Albanian state was responsible for the murder of hundreds of young people in the massacre of Tivar. Therefore, it is fair that this parliament holds a special session and cannot be treated in a political rhetoric that does no honor to any of us.
Pirro Vengu: Capri, I do not believe that you, as a parliamentary group or the opposition, can give us patriotism lessons about Kosovo. The Prime Minister is the one who repeated in the middle of Belgrade the request for recognition of Kosovo. This government has not only promoted development projects with Kosovo, but just as you have promoted the National Road, we are promoting the National Railway. This government has included Kosovo in the framework of strategic, military and regional cooperation. It is time for you to join the initiative to include Kosovo, together with Croatia, in military and regional defense initiatives. There are no patriotism lessons, come tomorrow to protest and unite as a nation.
