The deputy of the Socialist Party, Xhemal Qefalia, said that the action of the deputies of the pulpit, who blocked the meeting of the Electoral Reform Commission today, was expected.
He stated that the commission will function even without the pulpit.
In an interview for "Abc News", Qefalia said that Enkelejd Alibeaj should be in the commission and face it while adding that the opposition should "come to their senses" and sit in the commission.
"Actually, what was expected happened. They continued with the old avaz. In the commission room, there were not only the representatives of Reestablishment or Mr. Bardhi, but also of other entities. They were representatives of PL, of Mr. Idrizi, Mediu, so it had a wider reach. Those gentlemen also stumbled. Such an action stops, the opposition is more interested in having an electoral reform. This is a problem and drama of the opposition itself. They have problems as to which of these should take the leadership of the opposition. Yes, this cannot be solved by the majority. They are becoming an obstacle to themselves. Alibeaj should have been there to face. This is in the interest of the citizens. It doesn't matter who the co-chairman is. No one has the right to obstruct the election date and the renewal of the government.
This does not taste good even among internationals. The appeal made by the Prime Minister from Lezha is an appeal for the opposition to come to their senses and sit in the commission. The opposition, led by Mr. Bardhi, must come to their senses, if they do not come, the commission will function. In the final, of course, the numbers will come into play.
I am convinced that not only Alibeaj, but also other MPs, will not miss this opportunity to make these interventions. I am against online dating. I am absolutely convinced that the opposition must come to their senses.
I still personally believe that the opposition will give up taking seats by force. Here it is a matter of approach to problems, to the observations made by the OSCE-ODIHR. We agree to advance, to depoliticize the members of the voting centers, to have electronic voting. But we have to sit down to solve them together. "Nothing is decided by force, by pressure, I still hope, I have faith, it is also in their electoral interest to participate in the commissions ," he said.
